NMC has updated the NEET 2025 syllabus. Here is what changed, what stayed the same, and how students should adapt their preparation.
The National Medical Commission (NMC) revised the NEET UG syllabus in 2024 to align it with the updated NCERT textbooks. Students appearing in NEET 2025 should be aware of these changes.
Key Changes
Several topics from Class 11 and 12 Physics, Chemistry and Biology have been added, removed or restructured. The total number of questions remains 180 for 720 marks.
Physics Changes
New topics include semiconductor electronics and communication systems updates. Some wave optics subtopics have been removed.
Biology (Most Important)
Biology carries 360 marks (50% of total). Focus on Genetics, Evolution, Human Physiology and Plant Physiology. These account for 40% of Biology questions.
Chemistry Strategy
Organic Chemistry is the most scoring section. Master reaction mechanisms and named reactions. Physical Chemistry requires strong mathematical skills.
